The KN5000 permits you to save files to disk with a password. Files saved in this way can be loaded from disk but can not be altered and then saved to disk unless the password is provided. This prevents the original file from being altered on disk unintentionally.

To save a file with a password, proceed with the file save process in the normal way, and after everything is selected and just before pressing the save button, press the bottom left button of the display (shown in red at right) seven (7) times. This will bring up a new display which allows you to enter a two character password which is unique to the file that you are saving.

After a file is saved in this manner and later loaded from disk, any attempt to save the file will bring up the password screen and the two character password will be required for the file to be saved.
